ABOUT
Nikos Tsiachris is a renowned greek guitarist and bandleader known for his innovative fusion of different musical traditions. He is rooted in traditional flamenco but incorporates modern and global elements, such as jazz, classical, latin or Mediterranean motifs.
Tsiachris started playing the guitar at the age of eight and discovered his passion for flamenco as a student of musicology in Thessaloniki. He deepened his knowledge by studying in Andalusia, where he learned the authentic flamenco culture and technique.
As a bandleader, he founded “Rasgueo”, one of the most influential flamenco-jazz formations in Germany, which is characterized by the combination of guitar and trumpet. The band has released three studio albums with original compositions (Waterfall, Echo and Eleven).
He launched the “My Spanish Heart” concert series, in honor of Chick Corea´s homonym album, fostering innovation and ensuring flamenco jazz remains a dynamic, evolving art form. As a further development of this project he founded “Flamenco Jazz Masters”, a tribute ensemble known for its energetic live performances and collaborative spirit, featuring renowned international flamenco jazz artists.
His work emphasizes the universal language of flamenco, enriched by multicultural influences.
Nikos has performed in Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Polen and Spain. Some important highlights of his career are musical direction of „Berlin for Paco“, a tribute concert to Paco de Lucia (Instituto Cervantes Berlin), „The Salt of the Mediterranean“ (Gorki Theater), International Festival of Street Artists (Stettin, PL), Flamenco Festival of Ingolstadt, Jazzbaltica Festival, Guitar Festival in Kühlungsborn, RomAtak Festival.

more than twenty five years of teaching experience
Nikos Tsiachris has been teaching guitar for more than twenty five years both privately and at music schools. As a result of this experience he has developed his own teaching-concepts and strategies to enable students learning flamenco guitar. Probably one of the biggest challenges for the most students is to understand the flamenco rhythms, especially the 12-beat rhythms. Through his regular experience of playing together with jazz musicians, as well as teaching to beginners over many years, Tsiachris has developed an efficient way to make both of them - colleagues and students - understand how the 12-beat rhythms work. As he started learning flamenco guitar at the age of twenty-three, he has experienced many common learning difficulties, being thus very aware of the problems that students may face out in their effort to approach flamenco.
teaching method
Simplicity, motivation and awareness are the keywords of Tsiachris teaching method. Simplicity is essential to approach complexity. Flamenco guitar is extremely complex and requires continuous effort of many years, if you want to become a professional musician. Tsiachris has developed a smart strategy of teaching in a simplified and abstract way, supporting students to learn according to their abilities. In consequence students experience more success and less frustration.
Motivation is important in the learning process. Students have individual needs and a good teacher should be able to adapt to them. Tsiachris is flexible and open-minded as a teacher and has the ability to guide efficiently most students. His unique musical style and technical virtuosity have been inspired a lot of students.
Awareness is also very important. Perhaps the most typical beginners question is "how much time does it take to learn flamenco". Tsiachris answer is "it depends". Learning process varies greatly among students according to their perception, needs, time-dedication, ambitions etc. Tsiachris considers himself a student too; he is convinced that the learning process is continuous and endless. But, students must be aware that it might take several months / years in order to develop a powerful guitar technique and understand flamenco rhythms and sound aesthetics.
lesson types and plans
Private lesson is ideal for learning everything you´d like to learn and is especially recommended for those who focus on soloing guitar. Advanced students can learn compositional techniques and improvisation concepts. Apart from face-to-face lessons, online lessons are offered as well, for those who don´t live in Berlin. You can schedule an online lesson via Zoom or Skype and receive the learning material (videos, music score etc.) straight after the lesson.
Group learning often delivers fast results because it allows students to learn from each other and play together ensemble pieces. Tsiachris teaches singing- and dance accompaniment in small group courses, using at the beginning audio and video recordings. Advanced students have the possibility to learn by doing, accompanying regular dance classes and interacting with professional singers.
Tsiachris supports also non flamenco musicians or students who need to understand flamenco rhythms, harmony and structure. Having studied himself classical guitar and musicology, in combination with his experience in performing regularly together with jazz musicians, he has developed an efficient teaching method for those who ´d like to learn essential elements of flamenco music and apply it to other music genres.

experience the combination of music workshop and vacation over a week
A week-long music workshop on vacation is not just a leisure activity, but a holistic experience. It combines vacation, learning, social interaction, and personal development in a unique way. Participants invest in their passion, find new inspiration, and return with unforgettable memories and often new friendships.
Here are the main benefits for participants
1. In-depth artistic development & focus
· Uninterrupted learning curve: A whole week allows for immersion in the subject matter without being interrupted by everyday life. You can concentrate fully on the music, which leads to much greater progress than in hourly courses over several weeks.
· Time for refinement: There is enough time not only to learn the basics, but also to refine nuances, expression, and personal style. More complex projects, such as composing a song together, become possible.
2. Perfect balance between inspiration & relaxation
· The environment as a muse: The inspiring surroundings (sea, nature, beautiful architecture) act as a creativity booster and prevent feelings of burnout.
· Active relaxation: The vacation serves as active regeneration. A session in the morning, then swimming in the sea to relax, and jamming again in the evening. This mixture clears the mind and promotes creativity.
3. Building a strong network & sense of community
· Shared passion: You spend an intensive week with like-minded people. Making music, eating, and sharing experiences together quickly leads to deep connections and friendships.
· Valuable contacts: The group and the instructors become a valuable network that lasts long after the workshop is over and can promote future musical projects.
4. Professional guidance in a relaxed atmosphere
· Personal approach: Over the course of a week, the instructors have time to respond to each participant individually, identify strengths, and improve weaknesses in a targeted manner.
· Learning by doing: Lessons are often more informal than in a music school. Learning happens almost incidentally—while jamming together on the beach or talking about music.
5. Time out from everyday life & digital detox
· Reset for the mind: The combination of a clear goal (improving musically) and a completely new environment allows for a mental break from work stress and everyday routine.
· Formative experience: Such an intense week is often perceived as “life-changing.” You return home not only refreshed, but also with new energy, motivation, and perspective for music (and often for life).
6. Cultural enrichment
· Music and culture: Local culture often flows into the workshop—whether through local rhythms, joint visits to concerts, or enjoying regional cuisine. This broadens cultural and musical horizons.
